San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Joe Staley is awaiting medical clearance to play against the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday.

San Francisco offensive lineman Joe Staley says he is symptom-free after leaving the 49ers' game against the Giants, and hopes to play against the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday. The starting left tackle told CSN Bay Area that he was feeling fine and is awaiting medical clearance from team doctors.

"It's really out of my hands," Staley told CSN Bay Area on Tuesday. "It's up to the doctors. Of course, if it was up to me, I'd play. I would've played yesterday."

The short turnaround could prove an issue for the offensive lineman, who had a concussion 10 months ago in a game against the Arizona Cardinals. He will have to pass the NFL's mandatory concussion tests to receive clearance.

Staley left Sunday's game, a 26-3 home loss to the New York Giants, in the third quarter. In pursuit of safety Antrel Rolle following an interception, Giants safety Stevie Brown laid a hit on Staley that knocked him out of the game.

Right guard Alex Boone slid over to replace Staley and Leonard Davis moved into Boone's vacated spot.
