San Francisco goes for three in a row against Eli Manning and the Giants.
The San Francisco 49ers look to spur a winning streak as they host the 3-2 New York Giants on Sunday afternoon in a rematch of last year's NFC Championship game.
After a week-three road loss to the Minnesota Vikings, the 49ers have posted two blowout victories: 34-0 on the road against the New York Jets, and 45-3 at home against the Buffalo Bills. The performances in both of those games have helped the 49ers to the NFL's best rushing offense. Led by Frank Gore's 5.5 yards-per-carry average, San Francisco averages 196 rushing yards per game.
The Giants make their hay on offense behind the arm of Eli Manning, who is completing 65% of his passes for ten touchdowns and five interceptions. His main target in that pass attack -- which is third-best in the NFL -- is Victor Cruz, who has 37 catches for 438 yards and five touchdowns. The Giants are coming off a 41-27 win over the Cleveland Browns.
