The San Francisco Giants have had to come from behind in four of their last six victories to get the job done, and hope that a solid start from Ryan Vogelsong can earn them another W on Tuesday.
Vogelsong (12-7, 3.02 ERA) allowed four runs in six innings of work in his last start, still earning himself the W as part of a 8-4 win over Houston. He gave up just one run in six innings of his only meeting with Arizona this year, eventually taking a no decision.
Arizona will counter with Ian Kennedy (12-11, 4.27), who has won the last five starts against the Giants, owning a 1.58 ERA in his last seven outings against them. He is also 3-0 with a 1.17 ERA in his past four outings in China Basin.
One man who could shut down Kennedy is Buster Posey, who is 8-20 lifetime against him and is batting .429 with five RBIs during a recent five-game hitting streak.
First pitch is set for 7:15 p.m PT with coverage on CSN Bay Area and KNBR 680 AM.
