It's still unknown if Tim Lincecum will be in the Giants' postseason rotation, but if he is, it will be Hector Sanchez, not Buster Posey doing the catching.

Tim Lincecum isn't a lock to be in the San Francisco Giants' postseason rotation, but if he is, Hector Sanchez will likely remain his personal catcher.

Lincecum has worked with Sanchez in the majority of his second half starts, posting a 7-4 record and 3.06 ERA. This after he posted a 6.42 ERA in the first half of the season. If Lincecum does make the postseason rotation, that would mean Posey would shift to first base on the games he starts. Lincecum reportedly prefers to work with Sanchez, but when asked, Bochy said it was his preference.

"My preference, really," Bochy said, according to CSN Bay Area. "I just like the way it's gone in the second half."

Sanchez has also frequently caught in games started by Barry Zito meaning Posey could see significant time at first base in the playoffs if both Zito and Lincecum making the rotation. With Posey at first, Brandon Belt would either play left field or come off the bench.

Beyond Matt Cain and Madison Bumgarner, the Giants postseason rotation is still largely unknown with Lincecum, Zito and Ryan Vogelsong all possibilities.
