Stay connected for news and updates

Sunday's Oakland-Pittsburgh game, a 34-31 victory by the Raiders, wasn't without its share of significant injuries. The Raiders lost wide reciever Darrius Heyward-Bey and tight end Brandon Myers to concussions late in the game.

Heyward-Bey's injury was the scarier of the two. He suffered a helmet-to-helmet hit from Steelers safety Ryan Mundy early in the fourth quarter. Heyward-Bey fell unconsious in the end zone and was motionless for several minutes before being taken off on a stretcher. He gave a thumbs up on his way out of the stadium and was taken to an area hospital.

On Oakland's final drive, Myers caught a 15-yard pass for a first down and became the second victim of a Mundy helmet-to-helmet hit. Myers walked off the field and was diagnosed with a concussion on the sideline.

Both players will have to undergo extensive testing before being cleared to play in Week 4 against Denver. Mundy was not flagged for either hit.
