Raiders Vs. Steelers Halftime Update: Pittsburgh Takes 17-14 Lead To Half

The Oakland Raiders are in search of their first win of the season and after a rocky start on Sunday versus the Pittsburgh Steelers, they are starting to look like a team that has a chance to win this game. They tied the gam up at 14-14 in the second quarter before a Steelers field goal on the last play of the half put the visitors back in front, but the Raiders are now trailing just 17-14.

Pittsburgh scored on each of its first two drives of the game, the first coming after a Carson Palmer interception that left them with a short field. On both occasions, Roethlisberger found Miller for four-yard touchdown passes to cap the drive.

Had Darren McFadden not broken off a 64-yard touchdown run in between the Steelers' two scores, the Raiders would really be in trouble. But he did and that allowed Oakland to hang around.

That paid off in the second half when the Raiders' defense tightened up. Eventually, the offense would find life and Darrius Heyward-Bey caught a three-yard touchdown pass with two minutes remaining to tie the game. The Raiders' defense finally relented on the last drive, though, allowing Pittsburgh to get into SHaun Suishame field goal range before the half.

Roethlisberger is still moving the ball too easily, having no problem finding his receivers. He's completed 22 of 31 passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns, with Mike Wallace accounting for 57 of those yards and Heath Miller bringing in both touchdowns.

The Raiders defense is shutting down the Steelers' running game, though. Isaac Redman is Pittsburgh's leading rusher with just 13 yards and as a team, the Steelers have just 28 yards on 12 attempts.
