The San Francisco Giants aren't worried about putting up an encore performance of their 15-0 beatdown they handed to the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday, but simply just and W behind the big lefty Madison Bumgarner.
Bumgarner (12-6, 3.03) has given up two earned runs or less eitherin five consecutive starts, holding opponents to a .188 average over that span. He tossed six innings against the Rockies in his last start, giving up five hits while striking out seven.Bummy had won his first two meetings against St. Louis, both at Busch Stadium, before allowing four runs in 7.1 innings of work in a 4-1 loss at AT&T on May 16.
The Cardinals will send out Adam Wainwright (9-10, 4.03 ERA), who has been pitching well as of late. He's compiled a 1.84 ERA over his last four starts along with 28 K's and just two walks, but has struggled against the Giants in his career. Wainwright has an 0-4 record despite a 3.19 ERA over five career starts versus the Black and Orange.
First pitch is set for 10:45 p.m. PT with coverage on CSN Bay Area and KNBR 680 AM.
