2012 PGA Championship Prize Money: Tiger Woods Earns $143,286

Tiger Woods didn't win the 2012 PGA Championship after a pretty pedestrian finish this weekend, but he still made out with a great payday. He finished in 11th place and managed to grab $143,286 for his efforts.

When there's a tie, prize money is pooled and dispersed. For example, if there's a four-way tie for second, the second-, third-, fourth- and fifth-place prizes are combined, then divided by four. Each player then takes home their share of that money. So because Woods finished in a tie for 11th, he split up

John Daly was the other Bay Area golfer to win money with $99,867 overall after finishing 18th. Charlie Wi, Mitch Lowe, Nick Watney and Spencer Levin didn't earn money, as all these remaining Bay Area golfers missed the cut. Rory McIlroy earned top dollar with $1,445,000 big prize for finishing first.

A breakdown of the rest of the purse -- without ties -- can be found here.

PGA Championship 2012: Rory McIlroy Wins By Largest Margin In History

Rory McIlroy won the 2012 PGA Championship by a record eight strokes, breaking Jack Nicklaus' record of nearly 30 years. He shot a -6 on Sunday in the fourth and final round, improving his score to -13 for the event. The win marks the second major championship of McIlroy's career, and it only helped cement his status as the No. 1 golfer in the world.

David Lynn finished in second place at -5. Justin Rose, Keegan Bradley, Ian Poulter and Carl Pettersson tied for third place at -4.

Tiger Woods shot an even par-72 in the fourth round to keep him at -2 for the Championship. He finished in a tie for 11th place. His wait to claim that elusive major championship will continue into 2013, and you have to wonder if Tiger will ever get it done.

Phil Mickelson finished tied for 36th while shooting a +3 overall. He shot two-over on Sunday, missing on numerous putting chances early.

PGA Championship 2012: TV Schedule, How To Watch Online And More

The 2012 PGA Championship in South Carolina has been anything but predictable. Joost Luiten single-handedly delayed the start of the third round and now weather will delay the start of the fourth. As Sunday's final day is preparing to get underway in the tournament, the weather-delayed third round will need to wrap up before the fourth and final round can begin.

As the golfers tee off in the middle of the third round on Sunday, the leaders will be Rory McIlroy and Vijay Singh, who are both at 6-under and hold a one-stroke lead over Adam Scott.

The players are expected to be back out on the course at 4:45 a.m. PT -- weather permitting -- and will finish up their round. The fourth round is expected to begin at 8:30 a.m. PT.

The fourth round (and probably part of the third round) of the PGA Championship airs Sunday from 5 a.m. - 11 a.m. PT on TNT, then will switch over to CBS for coverage from 11 a.m. PT until the end of the day, however long that may take. You will be able to stream par-3 holes and cover marquee pairings live online at PGA.com. There is also a free PGA Championship app for mobile devices that will feature live video and leaderboard updates.

2012 PGA Championship Scores And Results: Round 3 Suspended Due To Weather As Tiger Woods Struggles And Vijay Singh Leads

Play has been suspended due to thunderstorms midway through the third round, leaving things frozen with Vijay Singh and Rory McIlroy tied for the lead and Tiger Woods struggling in 11th place. Play from Round 3 will resume at 4:45 a.m. PT, with the final round beginning at 8:30 a.m. PT.

Singh, Woods and Carl Pettersson opened Round 3 tied for first place, and of the three only Singh was able to stay there. Pettersson shot an even par through the first eight holes, sliding to fourth place at 4-under overall. Woods was not so lucky, shooting 3-over through the first seven to settle at 1-under, tied for 11th place. Bo Van Pelt had quite a day, shooting a 67 to move up 19 places on the leaderboard and sit tied for fifth at 3-under.

2012 PGA Championship Leaderboard Update: Tiger Woods Struggles In Round 3 Play

Play continues in Round 3 of the 2012 PGA Championship, and with the leaders finishing up the front nine there's been some serious movement on the leaderboard. Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh and Carl Pettersson all started the day tied for first place, but Singh is the only man who was able to stay there.

Singh currently shooting 2-under on the day, leaving him 6-under for the tournament. He's tied for first with Rory McIlroy, who improved his standing by shooting 4-under on the front nine. Carl Pettersson hasn't fallen too far, managing an even par through eight holes, but Tiger has struggled, picking up bogeys on holes four, five and six. That leaves him 3-over through seven, 1-under overall, and sliding ten places down the leaderboard to sit tied for 11th place.

PGA Championship 2012: Tee Times And Pairings For Saturday Are Delayed

Sometimes one sour apple can ruin everyone's fun. That's what happened on Saturday at the 2012 PGA Championship, as Joost Luiten opted not to play the 18th hole of his second round. Luiten, who had already shot 5-over for the day and plunged down the leaderboard, halted his play, citing darkness.

What this means is that the tee times for Saturday's scheduled third round in South Carolina cannot -- and will not -- be released until all golfers finish their second round. This means Luiten is holding up the entire tournament schedule, more or less.

Luiten will return to play his 18th hole at 4:30 a.m. PT. The tee times for the full third round on Saturday will be released about an hour later.

PGA Championship Results: Tiger Woods Moves Into Tie For Lead

Many were hoping that the 2012 PGA Championships in South Carolina would be the tournament where Tiger Woods returned to form. While it is too early to say whether Woods is truly "back," he has made a big statement in the first two days of the event. After Friday's second round, Woods is in a tie for the lead at 4-under.

Woods shot a 1-under on Friday, but that was good enough to grab a share of the lead. One of Woods' longtime contemporaries, Vijay Singh, shot a 3-under to also land at 4-under at the end of the round. Carl Pettersson entered the day at 6-under with a one-stroke lead, but a 2-over on Friday means he now shares the top spot with Singh and Woods.

2012 PGA Championship, Leaderboard Update: Tiger Woods One Back Of Leaders

Tiger Woods hasn't won a major since the 2008 U.S. Open, but with a great start to his second round at the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island, he finds himself in the hunt once more, sitting just one shot back of the leaders at the PGA Championship on Friday.

Tiger has been having little trouble with the winds, and has got the flatstick working as well, his usual trouble-spot as of late. He two putted on the par-5 second hole for birdie, while draining another birdie on the fourth. He also had very nice par putts on the first and third holes to keep the momentum going. Tiger is currently on the fifth hole, and is tied for second place with Ryo Ishikawa.

Rory McIlroy, Viajy Singh, Carl Pettersson, and Keegan Bradley all currently find themselves tied at 4-under par.

2012 PGA Championship, Leaderboard Update: Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy Look To Make Up Ground

With a number of top players still waiting to get their day started, the conditions are getting worse at the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island as the wind picks up for the afternoon group.

Two-time PGA champ Vijay Singh and 2005 champ Phil Mickelson had nice rounds at the Ocean Course on Friday, with Vijay firing a 3-under 69 to move two back of the leader at 4-under for the week. Mickelson finished with an 1-under round of 71 to stay even par for the tournament.

Gary Woodland birdied the par-5 2nd to tie Carl Petterson for the lead at 6-under par, while Pat Perez is off to a nice start a well, currently 2-under for his first four holes, moving to 5-under for the week.

Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy are both just getting their days started, both with pars on the par-4 first hole.

2012 PGA Championship, Leaderboard Update: Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, John Daly Off To Hot Starts

The threat of a thunderstorm has stayed away at the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island during the first round of play at the 2012 PGA Championship, with the field currently chasing Dutch professional Joost Luiten at the moment. But names like Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, and even John Daly have set themselves up nicely for the rest of the week.

McIlroy carded a bogey-free 67 to find himself 5-under for the tournament, tied along with Gary Williams and Swede Carl Petterson. Carmel native John Daly carded a 4-under 68, while Tiger Woods finished at 3-under 69 for his first round. His three bogies on the day hurt him greatly as he could have had a great start to his tournament instead of just a good one.

But the story at Kiawah Island so far is Joost Luiten, who is on-fire at the Ocean Course at the moment, sitting at 8-under through 14 holes on Thursday. He's carded six birdies and an eagle on his round so far, taking a sizable lead into Friday if he can hang on.

2012 PGA Championship: TV Schedule, How To Watch Online And More

With the start of the 2012 PGA Championship on Thursday at the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island in South Carolina, names like Tiger Woods, Rory McIlory andErnie Els will be vying for the title of PGA champion. But you wont be able to know what happens unless you tune in to find out.

Keegan Bradley took home the Wanamaker trophy in 2011 at the Atlanta Athletic Club, though the field will face a much different test of golf at the Ocean Course, similar to 2010 PGA Championship locale Whistling Straights, only on the shores of the South Carolina coast instead of the shores of Lake Michigan.

The TNT Network will have coverage of first round action from 1-7 p.m. ET on Thursday, with streaming abilities available via PGA.com. You can also follow along with statistics and the full leaderboard at pgatour.com.

PGA Championship 2012: Tiger Woods Close To Major Championship Form

At 36-years old, Tiger Woods is still in the prime of his career, even though he may be on the tail end of it. But he'll get another shot at a major title this week at Kiwah Island in South Carolina, eyeing his fifth PGA championship of his career.

But the fact of the matter is no one is going to beleive Tiger can actually reach the all-important record of 19 major titles until he does so, despite the fact he's proven 14-times over that he can get the job done. But when you have 16 major winners over the course of the last 16 majors, you can become a bit weary of Woods winning any of them.

Tiger is the only three-time winner of tour this year, and knows he is very close to putting it together at Kiawah:

"Things have progressed," said Woods,"but still, not winning a major championship doesn't feel very good."

Does he want it as bad as he used to? Of course, that's he he was the first one on scene on Monday morning at Kiawah Island. He played his final 23 holes at Firestone last week without a bogey, a good start heading into this week. Nevertheless, he has to put it together this weekend, not on Wednesday.

PGA Championship Odds 2012: Tiger Woods Early Heavy Favorite

It has been four years since Tiger Woods won his last championship and it would appear the odds makers are intent on ending that drought.

Woods is a heavy favorite to win the 94th PGA Championship at Kiawah Island's Ocean Course, coming in at an 8-to-1 favorite to win. The next closest are Rory McIlroy and Luke Donald at 18-to-1 each. Lee Westwood is the only other golfer at less than 20-to-1 odds.

2011's winner Keegan Bradley (Wood's tee-partner) comes in at 33-to-1. The three major winners so far this season didn't draw the best odds with Webb Simpson at 33-to-1, Bubba Watson at 40-to-1 and Ernie Els at a borderline forgotten 50-to-1. Everyone's favorite Phil Mickelson is sitting at 40-to-1.

There are a few golfers with bay area connections, but all of them are pretty long shots to make any rumblings on the green. Charlie Wi sits at 175-to-1, Mitch Lowe at 1,000-to-1 and Spencer Levin at 125-to-1. Only Nick Watney, who was born in Sacramento and attended Fresno State, is the only bay area representative not named Tiger Woods with a halfway decent shot at 50-to-1 odds.
