Team USA won the gold medal in the men's 4x100m medley relay, capping Michael Phelps' career with yet another gold. The decorated athlete amassed 22 medals in his career, 18 of them gold. Berkley, CA resident Nathan Adrian was also on the squad, collecting his third medal of the 2012 Games. He won a gold medal in the 100m freestyle and a silver in the men's 4x100m freestyle relay. Brendan Hansen and Matt Grevers were the other two men contributing in the event.
The Americans finished in 3:29.35, nearly two seconds ahead of Japan, who had a time of 3:31.26. Australia rounds out the podium with a time of 3:31.58.
