2012 Olympics, Women's Volleyball Results: United States Clinches Top Spot In Pool B With Win Against Serbia

Stay connected for news and updates

The top-ranked United States women's volleybal team has won all of their matches thus far at the 2012 Olympic games in London, and continued that trend Friday with their 25-17, 25-20, 25-16 victory over Serbia to clinch the top spot in Pool B.

Destinee Hooker scored 19 points for the Red, White and Blue, while former Stanford star Logan Tom added 12 points for the United States, five in the first set alone. This is Tom's fourth Olympic games.

The U.S. has never won an Olympic gold medal in volleyball, though has set themselves up nicely by clinching their Pool's top spot. They will wrap up their first round action against Turkey on Sunday.
