The United States were looking to advance in the men's rowing pair competition on riday at the 2012 London Olympic games, though unfortunately Stanford grad Silas Stafford and teammate Tom Peszek finished second in the final B of the men's rowing at the Olympic regatta.

The American pair crossed the finish line in 6 minutes, 53.30 seconds in the non-medal race at Dorney Lake. Cal alumni Scott Frandsen and Canadian teammate David Calder were sixth in final A of the same event, where the team from New Zealand eventually took home the gold medal. Frandsen and Calder would finish in a time of 6:30.49.
