The American pair crossed the finish line in 6 minutes, 53.30 seconds in the non-medal race at Dorney Lake. Cal alumni Scott Frandsen and Canadian teammate David Calder were sixth in final A of the same event, where the team from New Zealand eventually took home the gold medal. Frandsen and Calder would finish in a time of 6:30.49.
