The 49ers were required to trim the roster down to 75 this week. Niners Nation examined some of the cuts.

The San Francisco 49ers made a number of cuts this week to pare the roster down from 90 to 75. The NFL required teams to reduce their roster by Monday afternoon. There will be one more round of cuts down to 53 before the regular season begins.

David Fucillo of SB Nation's Niners Nation examined a couple of the 49ers fan-favorites that were sent packing:

Some fans were surprised guys like Brian Tyms and Kourtnei Brown were released, but we sometimes get a bit more caught up in players on the 49ers. They both received positive reports at different times in camp, but it obviously wasn't enough to keep them on the roster.

The NFL is a tough business and there are only so many players that can make a roster. Being well-liked by a fanbase is not a requirement.
