The San Francisco Giants visit the Houston Astros on Tuesday at Minute Maid Park, with Matt Cain looking to channel his recent success at a park he hasn't had much at previously.
Cain (13-5, 2.83 ERA) takes the hill eyeing his fourth straight victory. He is 2-0 with a 0.59 ERA in two outings against the Astros this year, including his perfecto on June 13. Unfortunately he is 0-2 with a 7.27 ERA in three career starts at Minute Maid, something he'll look to change on Tuesday.
Houston will counter with right-hander Bud Norris (5-11, 5.19), who has gone 0-10 with a 6.78 ERA over his last 14 starts. He's fallen to San Francisco twice during that stretch, including a 3-2 loss on July 15, another meeting which he faced Cain.
Two players that could do some damage this evening are Buster Posey and Hunter Pence. Posey went 3-4 against Norris earlier this season and is 8-18 with a homer and four RBIs versus the Astros in 2012. Hunter Pence is 4-9 with two homers against his former team this season, though came earlier in the year while still with Philadelphia.
First pitch is set for 5:05 p.m. PT with coverage on CSN Bay Area and KNBR 680 AM.
