The Oakland Athletics completed a four-game sweep of the Cleveland Indians with a 12-7 win on Thursday afternoon at Progressive Field. It was the sixth straight win for the Wild Card-leading A's.
For the second straight day, the Indians got on the board first, but an early lead didn't hold up. Jason Kipnis homered to lead off the bottom of the first inning, but Coco Crisp evened things up in the top of the third with a solo shot of his own.
The A's had little trouble piling on runs after that. George Kottaras hit a bases-clearing double in the top of the fourth to make it 4-1 and Cliff Pennington stretched that lead to 6-1 with a home run. Jack Hannahan got one of those runs back for the Indians in the bottom of the fourth, but Josh Reddick launched another two-run shot in the top of the fifth that made the score 8-2 in favor of the Athletics. The bomb was the 27th homer of the year for Reddick.
In the bottom of the fifth, Shin-Soo Choo helped out with an RBI groundout to scratch out another run for Cleveland. The A's again answered right back in the top of the sixth with a sacrifice fly from Stephen Drew and an RBI single from Reddick that made it 10-3.
The Indians grabbed three quick runs in the bottom of the sixth with a bases-loaded walk to Kipnis and a two-run single from Choo, cutting the Oakland lead to 10-6. Chris Carter padded the lead a bit in the seventh with a sacrifice fly, but the Indians kept pace again in the bottom of the inning, thanks to an RBI single from Lou Marson that made it 11-7.
Josh Donaldson stayed hot with a home run to lead off the top of the ninth against Cleveland closer Chris Perez.
The A's improved to a season-best 16 games over .500 with the win.

The Oakland Athletics picked up their fifth straight win on Wednesday night as they once again defeated the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field. The A's defeated the Indians by a final score of 8-4.
Jason Donald launched a home run in the bottom of the third inning to give the Indians a 1-0 lead and snap a prolonged scoreless streak against Oakland. Jason Kipnis added an RBI groundout in the third to make it 2-0 Cleveland.
Josh Donaldson launched a three-homer to left field in the top of the fourth to give Oakland a 3-2 lead. It was a lead they would never give up. Derek Norris contributed an RBI groundout in the sixth to make it 4-2. Seth Smith and Chris Carter each picked up an RBI hit in the seventh to make it 6-2.
Brent Lillibridge hit a sacrifice fly and Casey Kotchman hit an RBI groundout in the bottom of the eighth to cut the Oakland lead back down to 6-4, but the A's weren't finished. In the top of the ninth, Yoenis Cespedes hit an RBI single and Josh Reddick hit an RBI double to get those two runs back.
When all was said and done, the A's had out-hit the Indians, 15-6. Oakland starter Travis Blackley was solid, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks in 5.1 innings.

On Tuesday, the Oakland Athletics picked up their second straight shutout win over the Cleveland Indians. This time, they did it in a bit more dominant fashion, getting the win by a final score of 7-0.

The A's kept scoring til the end, plating two more runs in the top of the ninth on a Carter RBI double and an RBI groundout from Josh Donaldson.
Starter Tom Milone gave up seven hits and a walk in six innings, but allowed no runs and struck out five. He combined with Jerry Blevins, Pat Neshek and Evan Scribner for the shutout.

The Oakland Athletics had a chance at making history on Monday night as they opened up their series against the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field. While Oakland starter Brett Anderson did not record a perfect game or a no-hitter, he once again demonstrated that he is back and as good as ever. Anderson led the A's to a 3-0 win as the Oakland pitching staff held the Indians to just two hits and three walks.
The A's scored single runs in each of the first three innings to give Anderson more than enough run support to pick up his second straight win. Seth Smith drove in Stephen Drew with a sacrifice fly in the first inning, Josh Reddick led off the second inning with his 26th home run of the season and Chris Carter tacked on the final run with an RBI single in the third.
Anderson, meanwhile, was perfect through the first four innings. In the bottom of the second, Michael Brantley was ruled to have broken up the no-hitter, thanks to a pretty egregiously blown call that resulted in an infield single. Brent Lillibridge led off the sixth inning with a double, rendering the importance of the blown call moot.
The A's are still happy to have picked up the win and are overjoyed to have Anderson back right as they lose Bartolo Colon for the season. They'll try to pick up another win over the Indians on Tuesday.
