As the San Jose Earthquakes continue their incredible 2012 season, the Colorado Rapids came to town looking to end the Quakes' undefeated streak at Buck Shaw Stadium. But thanks to a pair of goals from both Simon Dawkins and Alan Gordon, San Jose trumped the Rapids 4-1 on Saturday night.

The Earthquakes (15-6-5) remained unbeaten in their last 12 home games, with their only loss in a home game coming in the second week against the Houston Dynamo at AT&T Park.

Tyrone Marshall scored the lone goal for Colorado (8-16-2), which has now lost eight of their last 10 matches and 11 of their 13 games on the road.

San Jose will retain the overall lead in MLS after this week, playing host to Chivas USA in its next match on Sept. 2. Colorado travels up north to take on the Portland Timbers on Friday.
