Bristol Motor Speedway once again hosted the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series on Saturday night. The drivers raced under the lights in the third-to-last event before the cutoff for the Chase for the Cup.

Bay Area driver Jeff Gordon placed third on Saturday night and still remains in the running for one of the Wild Card berths, although he will be doing everything he can to win one of the final two races before the cutoff.

Denny Hamlin edged out Jimmie Johnson to capture the checkered flag at Bristol in his third win of the year. Johnson, Greg Biffle and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. became the first three drivers to officially clinch berths for the Chase.
