Giants vs. Braves: Buster Posey Cleared To Play On Friday

Stay connected for news and updates

The San Francisco Giants will have their All-Star catcher back in the lineup for Friday night's game with the Atlanta Braves. Buster Posey, who missed last night's game with a hamstring issue, is not completely back to strength but feels good enough to give it a go.

Here is the latest from AT&T Park:

Amidst all the trade rumors and dealings that are going around baseball today, manager Bruce Bochy is still yet to release his lineup. Expect to see Posey batting in his customary No. 4 spot unless something else goes down. Ryan Vogelsong will make the start for the Giants. Ben Sheets starts for Atlanta.

As for the Braves, here is their lineup tonight:

Michael Bourn - CF
Martin Prado - SS
Jason Heyward - RF
Chipper Jones - 3B
Freddie Freeman - 1B
Brian McCann - C
Dan Uggla - 2B
Eric Hinske - LF
Ben Sheets - P

First pitch from San Francisco is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. this evening.
