The San Francisco Giants will be without Buster Posey for the first game of a big series with the wild card leading Atlanta Braves. As manager Bruce Bochy filled out his lineup card on Thursday afternoon, the Giants' All-Star Catcher was held out to give him rest and get him back to 100-percent.

Christian placed on 15-day disabled list:

Following his incredible catch against the Dodgers earlier in the week, the Giants have placed outfielder Justin Christian on the disabled list with a sprained wrist. Francisco Peguero has been recalled and should be in San Francisco for tonight's game.
