Tiger Woods, an alum of Stanford University, finished the first round of the 2012 Barclays at 3-under par and is currently in a tie for 14th place. Woods hit the ball well throughout the day, although he missed a couple of makeable putts late that could have moved him up the leaderboard even more. Among the players Woods is tied with, Phil Mickelson and Vijay Singh are the most notable.
Padraig Harrington leads the field at 7-under through 18 holes. He moved ahead early in the day and continued to play well throughout. Nick Watney and Brian Harman are tied for second place at 6-under, while Pat Perez, Sergio Garcia, Gary Christian and Jimmy Walker each trail Harrington by two shots.
PGA Championship winner Rory McIlroy did not have a great day and sits five strokes back after shooting 2-under 69 on Thursday.
