Oakland Athletic's pitcher Brett Anderson will make his first start since undergoing Tommy John surgery last July this Tuesday against the Minnesota Twins, according to Kate Longworth of CSNBayArea.com.

Anderson hasn't started a game since June 5, 2011 but threw a successful bullpen session this past Saturday for A's manager Bob Melvin and pitching coach Curt Young. The 24-year-old lefty has reached the end of his 30-day rehab assignment in which he went compiled a 18/3 strikeout to walk ratio and a 4.26 ERA in six minor league starts.

It's unclear whose rotation spot Anderson will be taking at the moment but it will likely come down to one of two rookies: Tommy Milone or Dan Straily. Either way, Anderson's career 3.66 ERA is sure to be a nice bonus for the A's with the the playoff run nearing as he was shaping up to be one of the best young left-handers in the game before the injury.
