Stay connected for news and updates

After their beat down at the hands of the Washington Nationals on Monday night the San Francisco giants ere looking to bounce back in a big way. And thanks to another stellar performance by Madison Bumgarner and some timely hitting from guys like Brandon Belt the Black and Orange took game two by the score of 6-1.

Bumgarner (13-7) was on point, striking out six while walking just one in his second complete game this year, scattering just five hits along the way.

As for Belt, he thought he had hit a home run not once but twice, ending up with RBI base hits instead. The Giant would hold on to the 2-0 lead until the seventh, but added four extra insurance runs in the eighth to ensure victory.

The Giants and Nats complete their series on Wednesday as Stephen Strasburg takes on Tim Lincecum in a matinee at 12:45 p.m. PT.
