Rory McIlroy picked up a massive win on Sunday in the 2012 PGA Championship. It was his first major win of the year.
Rory McIlroy needed to play a round and a half of gold on Sunday at the 2012 PGA Championship, thanks to weather delays that shortened play on Saturday. Luckily for McIlroy, it was all brilliance as he opened up a lead and never looked back, sprinting away to a 13-under cumulative score and finishing with an eight-stroke lead over the second-place David Lynn.
As for the most famous golfer in the tournament, Tiger Woods slipped off the pace in the final two rounds and had to settle for 2-under for the tournament following his even-par fourth and final round. Woods finished in a tie for 11th place and will continue his drought of major wins stretching back to 2008.
