As there are no more events to look forward to aside from the closing ceremonies at the 2012 London Olympic games, the final medal count has left the United States of America once again atop the proverbial heap, finishing well ahead of all other countries at the games of the 30th Olympiad.

The U.S. of A finsihed with 104 total medals, adding two more gold medals to their tally on Sunday with victories in men's basketball and men's wrestling. That brings them to 46 gold medals, eight more than second place China who would finish the games with 87 total medals, 38 of them gold.

Here is how the final top-five shakes out:

1. United States, 104 (46 gold, 29 silver, 29 bronze)
2. China, 87 (38, 27, 22)
3. Russia, 82 (24, 25, 33)
4. Great Britain, 65 (29, 17, 19)
5. Germany, 44 (11, 19, 14)
