2012 Olympics, Women's Volleyball Final: USA Loses To Brazil In Four Sets

Stay connected for news and updates

Team USA had a chance to win a gold medal in the women's volleyball final on Saturday afternoon. After a very strong start to the day, Brazil rallied to win the final three sets and force the U.S. to settle for silver.

It was a tough loss for the United States, but a silver medal is hardly anything to be upset with. On this day, Brazil was simply the quicker and better team.

The U.S. won the first set easily by a score of 25-11. While they had the early advantage, Brazil promptly responded with a 25-17 second set victory. Brazil won the third set 25-20, and with all the momentum on their side, they closed out the fourth and final set with a 25-17 mark.
