A preview of the 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony.
The Opening Ceremonies for the 2012 Olympics are set for Friday night. Athletes from every region of the world will enter the arena with their beloved flags and country colors, which truly is something amazing to watch. More than a billion people are expected to watch the event across the globe.
The Opening Ceremony, titled "The Isles of Wonder", will commence Friday night in London. With the time change being anywhere from five to eight hours depending on where you live in the United States, most of the action televised in primetime will be tape-delayed. San Francisco and the rest of the Bay Area is eight hours back.
The ceremony will begin at 9 p.m. in London. That's 4 p.m. on the east coast, 1 p.m. in the bay and the rest of the west coast. NBC will begin airing everything at 7:30 p.m. EST/PST. Check your local listings to ensure what time everything is set to begin in your area.
The Bay Area has many representatives at the 2012 Olympics, including Cal Bear alumni Zach Vlahos, Julie Nichols, Erin Cafaro and Kara Kohler of the rowing team.
