Tiger Woods didn't end up winning the 2012 British Open, but he continued to show signs he's on the road back with another solid performance. Despite a fairly poor final round performance, Woods still ended up in a tie for third with Brant Snedeker, as they each earned nearly half a million dollars for his efforts. Ernie Els earned just over $1.45 million for winning the tournament, and Adam Scott managed nearly $839,000 (although he has to be disappointed at not earning the overall prize).

As for other Bay Area golfers, Nick Watney did pretty well for himself by earning a tie for 23rd, managing to get prize money of over $62,017. Two local golfers brought up the rear, as Stanford's Tom Watson earned $17,183, while John Daly managed $16,699.
