Stay connected for news and updates

The Stanford Cardinal have been a terrific host of their 2012 College World Series regional at Klien Field at Sunken Diamond, taking the win in their first two rounds of play to advance to the championship round. Now they must wait to see which squad they've already beaten will meet them in the next round.

The Card took care of Fresno St. handedly in game 1 by the score of 9-1 then took out Pepperdine 5-4 in game two to advance straight to the championship. Pepperdine and Fresno St. meet in the loser's bracket on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. PT, which the winner will move on to play Stanford.

Since Stanford is 2-0 already they have to take either game 6 or game 7 to advance, while the other school will have to win both to advance.

Game six is set for 4 p.m. PT this evening with coverage on ESPN 3.
