Although it's still very early in the 2012 U.S. Open, Tiger Woods is starting to look like the Tiger of old after moving into red numbers for the first time this week after making his second birdie of the day to move to 1-under for the week, than ramming in a 45 foot birdie on the next hole to move to 2-under.
Tiger began his day on the back nine, firing an even par 36 after a bogey on the 14th and birdie on the 17th. He then moved on to the difficult front side, where after staying the course through the first three holes, sank a solid birdie putt on the par-4 fourth to join the eight other competitors sitting under par, currently led by Michael Thompson.
Bubba Watson and Phil Mickelson, Tiger's playing partners in the first two rounds, have gotten out of the gate horribly as lefty sits at 4-over and Bubba 7-over through the first 13 holes of the day.
