The NBA Draft is a little under two months away, but the Sacramento Kings are already scouting and combing out potential players they will be able to draft with their likely top five overall selection. Geoff Petrie, the Kings general manager will find out his team's exact draft position at the end of this month at the NBA's draft lottery.

If there are no suprises on draft lottery day, and the default selection spots held through, Sacramento would have the No. 5 overall pick.

SB Nation's NBA Editor, Tom Ziller, released his mock draft on Monday. Ziller has the Kings selecting Michael Kidd-Gilchrist out of Kentucky at No. 5. Kidd-Gilchrist was one of the key components to the 2012 national champion Kentucky. He averaged 11.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per game for the Wildcats.

Not only is MKG a high-motor, versatile player with upside. He also carries the Awesome Teamwork And Energy virus, which is highly contagious and will result in halos on the heads of Tyreke Evans and DeMarcus Cousins.

NBADraft.net has compared Kidd-Gilchrist to Gerald Wallace and Andre Iguodala.
