Ronnie Flores of ESPNHS released his All-American watch list heading into this summer's AAU basketball season. Two players that play for Bay Area high schools made the list, Aaron Gordon and Jabari Bird. The two players are also ranked No. 1 and No. 2 respectively in the Class of 2013 in the state of California according to ESPN. Gordon and Bird currently star for the same AAU team, the Oakland Soldiers.
Bird plays shooting guard for Salesian HS in Richmond, Calif. and was named the East Bay Player of the Year by the Oakland Tribune. Bird is courting several scholarship offers from several colleges including California.
Gordon, a 6'7" power forward, plays for Archbishop Mitty in San Jose, Calif. Gordon also has a handful of offers, with Stanford having the local-connection advantage.
Salesian HS and Archbishop Mitty finished ranked No. 2 and No. 3 in ESPN's final California state high school basketball rankings.
Bird and Gordon will be two names to remember entering this summer, the pair will likely be grabbing headlines in the AAU circuit across the country.
