Kentucky Derby 2012: Start Time, Post Positions, TV Coverage And More

The running of the 138th Kentucky Derby is set for Saturday afternoon from beautiful Louisville, Kentucky. Weather may be a bit of an issue (more on that further down) but the field of horses looks to be very strong, led by favorites Bodemeister and Union Rags. Here is a complete rundown of what you'll need for Saturday's race.

Start Time: The race is set for 6:24 p.m. ET, although there will be plenty of pre-race coverage televised all day. That's 3:24 on the west coast.

TV Schedule: NBC will televise the race live, complete with both pre- and post-race reaction. NBC Sports Network will also recap the race once it is complete.

Weather Forecast: Rain showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout Friday night and early Saturday morning, but it looks like they'll clear out by the afternoon. Once they do, it should be a beautiful day for racing.
