Stanford will host the Palo Alto Regional in the 2012 College World Series.
The Stanford Cardinal will be hosting their own regional at the 2012 College World Series, as they'll be playing in the Palo Alto Regional. Stanford will have Michigan State, Fresno State and Pepperdine in their regional. They'll start off by playing Fresno State this Friday at 6 PM PT on ESPN3, and then play either Michigan State or Pepperdine depending on the results of their two games. If Stanford wins, they'll play the Michigan State vs. Pepperdine winner; if they lose, they'll play the Michigan State vs. Pepperdine loser.
All games from the Palo Alto Regional will be televised online on ESPN3. As the hosts, Stanford will play at their homefield, i.e. the Klein Field at the Sunken Diamond. The format for the regional is double elimination, with Stanford needing to avoid two losses.
Stanford will play the winner of the Tallahassee Regional, a regional that features Florida State, Mississippi State, Samford and UAB.
