UFC 146 is underway from Los Vegas on Saturday night and one set of preliminary fights is already in the books. Three matches kicked off the event and were streamed live on Facebook.
The opening bout was a featherweight fight between Mike Brown and Daniel Pineda. The fight featured a lot of lay-and-pray by Brown, who managed to control the majority of the three rounds and pick up the unanimous decision on scores of 29-28, 29-28, 29-28. Although not the dominating win Brown was hoping for, it is still an important victory for him as he tries to move back into the featherweight title picture.
In the second fight, a light heavyweight bout, Glover Teixeira was as dominant as you could have hoped for, taking down Kyle Kingsbury in the first minute and initiating the ground and pound before cinching in an arm triangle for the submission at 1:53 of the first round.
The final match on Facebook was a lightweight bout between Jacob Volkmann and Paul Sass. This fight was even faster, with Sass cinching in a diabolical triangle choke from the bottom for the quick tap-out in the first round.
The next set of matches will air live on the FX network.
