The Masters 2012, Second Round Scores: Fred Couples, Jason Dufner Lead, Tiger Woods Struggles Friday At Augusta National

The second round of the 2012 Masters is in the books, and a past champion finds themselves in the lead heading into the weekend, it just wasn't one many people were expecting.

Fred Couples tied his best round ever at the Masters with a 67, vaulting himself to the top of the leaderboard at 5-under for the week. As did Jason Dufner, who's 2-under 70 was enough to keep him tied for the lead with Freddy, who won the Masters 20 years ago in 1992.

Lee Westwood, Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia, Bubba Watson and Louis Oosthuizen find themselves just one shot back at 4-under, an interesting group on international talent, all looking to put the Green Jacket on for the first time. Another four competitors stand at 3-under including Bay Area native Nick Watney, while Phil Mickelson and Henrik Stenson sit at 2-under along with five others.

As for Tiger Woods, his swing troubles continued with just about every club in his bag, becoming increasingly frustrated with his swing. It came to a head after an abismal tee shot on the par-3 16th, tossing and kicking his club around the tee box. He limped his was to a 3-over 75. Fellow Bay Area native Kevin Chappell shot a 4-over 76, but will be around for the weekend.

Augusta National will only show more of it's teeth over the weekend as sunny and warm conditions are forecasted for the weekend, making the greens only firmer and faster than they already are.
