The Masters 2012: Tiger Woods Discusses Weather, Rory McIlroy at Tuesday Press Conference

As the field continues to prepare for the 2012 Masters, four time champion Tiger Woods took to the press room on Tuesday for his annual pre-tourney interview, talking about his game, course conditions, and a bit about fellow competitor Rory McIlroy.

Tiger noted that a bit of wet weather this week will certainly have an effect on the course, but the greens remain 'perfect' and are a bit more soft and receptive because of the rain. Tiger also noted that how the tournament directors decide to set of the golf course will dictate a bit what he puts in his bag.

Before his win two weeks ago at Bay Hill, Tiger came to Augusta for a practice round, but knows the prestige of the event and the history surrounding it and the completely different experience of actually playing the Masters:

"You can play 100 practice rounds," Woods said, "but Thursday through Sunday it's just a totally different experience."

Tiger also discussed how his game has been progressing, from his win at the Chevron Challenge in December to his minor health set back in February to his victory at Bay Hill, it's been a slow, uphill climb for Woods, but he's getting it all together:

"I've put together two good rounds, then three, then four," Woods said. " ... I've been in contention, it's just continuing the process."

Tiger also took some time to talk about the new kid in town as it were, Northern Irishman Rory McIiroy. Tiger was asked if he sees any of himself in the reigning U.S. Open champion as well, reminiscing a bit about his golf swing.

"Yeah, the way he can move the ball out there. I used to move it like that, back in yesteryear. The way he plays and the way he handles himself out there ... He has all the makings of being a great champion for a long period of time. He just needs to get more experienced."

He also isn't at Augusta to relieve his fond memories of year's past, he's here to win, as always.

"I'm here for the Green Jacket."
