Masters 2012: Tiger Woods, Tom Watson Have Rich History At Augusta

Two notable participants in this year's Masters share a rich history of success at Augusta National. Former Stanford golfers Tiger Woods and Tom Watson have a combined six wins in Masters Tournament history.

Watson, 62, will be participating in his 39th Masters. The Stanford-alum won the tournament in 1977 and 1981. He has collected over $897,850 in winnings at Augusta in his illustrious career. Watson is now tied for eleventh all-time in Masters starts.

Woods, 36, left Stanford after two years and turned professional in 1996. Tiger wore the Green Jacket in 1997, 2001, 2002 and 2005. He has taken home a total of $6,802,806 in winnings in 17 appearances at Augusta.

The two golf legends last shared headlines in the 2010 British Open. Woods, let Watson play ahead and finish his 18th hole in the evening to avoid finishing the hole the next morning:

And then: respect from an unexpected quarter. Tiger Woods, playing in the group ahead, motioned for Watson's group to swing away so that Watson could finish on Friday evening, basking in the cheers of the adoring Scotland crowd. Watson and Woods have had their differences of late, with Watson critiquing Woods' behavior both on and off the course, but on this afternoon, Woods put aside personal differences and let Watson enjoy one last triumphant walk up 18.
