The fourth race of the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup season will take place on Sunday at Bristol Motor Speedway. The Food City 500 is a 500-lap race that clocks in at 266.5 total miles, so it will be a race that runs on the shorter side. Bay Area natives Jeff Gordon and A.J. Allmendinger are both looking to improve their respective standings in the Sprint Cup chase and they will both have optimal placement when the race begins. Allmendinger will have the second slot in the starting lineup, behind pole position winner Greg Biffle, while Gordon will start fourth in the order.
The race will begin at 1:07 p.m. EDT and will be televised nationally on FOX. If you wanted to listen online, head over to the Performance Racing Network's Web site. You can also check PRN's site for a list of affiliate stations in the Bay Area.
