Jeremy Lin of the New York Knicks and Tim Tebow of the Denver Broncos have a lot in common. They're both players that exploded out of nowhere to become national phenomenons despite coming in relatively unheralded as pro prospects. It doesn't get any bigger than Linsanity and Tebowmania, both of whom have attracted large groups of fans who are interested in the development of the two players as individuals.
Of course, what probably connects the two the most is their faith. Kristen Mascia of People Magazine report on how it's helped them connect.
"They've spoken over the telephone. Jeremy's been a fan of Tebow's for a while, but only recently were they able to connect," says Tam of Lin, who's followed Tebow since his quarterback days on the national champion University of Florida football team.
"His comment to me was that Tim is a really great guy and that he's very inspired by him," adds Tam.
It seems the feeling's mutual.
On Feb. 20 at the Cartoon Network's Hall of Game awards, Tebow told ESPN: "I've had the pleasure of getting to know him over the last few weeks and what a great guy he is."
Lin and Tebow are both very Christian and use it to motivate them. It makes sense the two would get to liking each other and form a bromance for the ages.
Who knows if this will progress further as a positive relationship. Maybe they'll go out on a date!
