The Bay Area will be represented well in bowl games this year.

As the bowl game selections were released on Sunday night, three schools from the Bay Area learned their postseason fate.

For the second year in a row, the Stanford Cardinal will be playing in a BCS bowl game. After winning the Pac-12 title on Friday, the Cardinal will head to the Rose Bowl to take on Wisconsin. The Badgers made quick work of Nebraska in the Big Ten Championship Game, and they feature one of the nation's best tailbacks in Montee Ball.

The 2013 Rose Bowl is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET on Jan. 1. It will be televised by ESPN.

The San Jose St. Spartans had a great year and were rewarded with a bid to the Military Bowl. SJSU will take on Bowling Green at RFK Stadium on Dec. 27. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. ET from Washington D.C., and ESPN will have the coverage.

The Fresno St. Bulldogs will spend Christmas in Hawaii. They'll take on SMU on Christmas Eve at 8 p.m. ET. ESPN will televise all of the action from Aloha Stadium.
