NFC West standings, Week 15

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

The 49ers will win the NFC West assuming they can avoid a late-season collapse.

Early on in the season, it appeared the San Francisco 49ers would cruise to an NFC West title in 2012. The Niners currently hold a comfortable lead in the division, and while they won't be able to take their foot off the petal the next few weeks, anything other than a total collapse will have them atop the standings once it's all said and done.

Following the completion of Week 14, the 49ers have a record of 9-3-1. That's good for a lead of 2.5 games over the Seattle Seahawks, which are now 8-5 following their impressive dismantling of the Cardinals on Sunday. These two teams will meet in Week 16, and the winner will likely take home the division crown.

The Rams have been playing better in recent weeks. They now sit in third place with a 6-6-1 record. As for Arizona, they've dropped nine games in a row after beginning the year 4-0.

In the NFC, San Francisco currently would hold the No. 2 playoff seed.

Here is a full look at the NFC West standings.
