Kirby Lee-US PRESSWIRE
Linebacker Aaron Curry, who was taken off of the physically unable to perform list, has yet to be activated.
Oakland Raiders linebacker Aaron Curry has not been activated and placed on the 53-man roster, according to his Twitter account, and will not play in the Raiders' Sunday showdown with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Curry, who was taken off of the physically unable to perform list in mid-October, has now spent nearly the entire 21-day window, in which the team can place him on the roster before having to put him on injured reserve, as inactive.
The second-year Raider is recovering from a knee injury, which has kept him off the field. Curry has visited with experts in months past, looking to return to the gridiron, but has been unable to recover fully and provide a boost to the Raiders' defense.
In 2011, Curry recorded 68 tackles, 48 of which were solo, and recovered two fumbles on the year as part of the Raiders' defensive attack. In his four-year NFL career, Curry has recorded 202 tackles and forced four fumbles.
