Giants, Angel Pagan reportedly not in agreement on number of years on contract

In his first year with the franchise, Angel Pagan played an integral role in the San Francisco Giants success. Now that it's time to talk about a new contract, the two sides aren't seeing eye-to-eye.

After winning the World Series for the second time in three years, no one is surprised that the San Francisco Giants want to keep the team together. Outfielder Angel Pagan played significant role in SF's championship and finds himself a coveted free agent this off-season. Pagan, 31, is currently in negotiations to return to the Giants; however, the two sides are reportedly unable to agree to the length of the new deal.

Drafted by the New York Mets in 1999, Pagan was acquired by San Francisco via trade in the off-season following the 2011 season. In the final year of his $4.85 million contract, Pagan played in a team-high 154 games. He surpassed career highs in doubles (38) and triples (15) and lead the Giants in stolen bases (29) and runs (95). Pagan was ranked 32nd in National League MVP voting.

Angel Pagan will have a home for the 2013 season, but where will it be?
