The Cal Golden Bears suffered a blowout loss against the Oregon State Beavers on Saturday, falling by a final score of 62-14.
The Golden Bears finished the 2012 season with a 3-9 record, losing their final five games by a combined 138 points. Cal let up 559 yards of total offense to the Beavers, who had eight positional players score a touchdown.
Following the defeat, head coach Jeff Tedford finds himself firmly on the hot seat. The Cal Golden Bears blog weighed in on the future of the long-tenured coach.
The conversation may start and end with Coach Tedford being relieved of his duties as Cal football coach after 11 years on the job. After Saturday night's performance -- or non-performance -- any other outcome would appear to be an upset.
No official decision has been made on Tedford's status, but it would appear he's a longshot to return to the sidelines for the Golden Bears in 2013.
Oregon State, meanwhile, will be looking to finish their season in style with a matchup against Oregon next week followed by a game versus Nicholls State.
