The San Jose State Spartans have won four straight and are on the hunt for five. In their way tonight are the Brigham Young Cougars. The Cougars are on a mini-win streak of their own, having won their last two games. Someone's streak is going to end tonight. At the half, the Spartans are up on BYU, 20-7.

San Jose State began the night's scoring with Noel Grigsby catching a 51-yard pass from quarterback David Fales. Kicker Austin Lopez missed the point-after. BYU scored its only points of the half midway through the first quarter; Jamaal Williams rushed for 16 yards and the touchdown. From that point on, it was all SJSU. To close out the quarter, Spartan Chander Jones received an 8-yard pass from Fales for the TD. This time, Lopez was successful with the extra point, and after one, the Spartans were up, 13-7.

The second quarter was considerably quieter than the first. SJSU's Grigsby struck again with an 18-yard TD reception. Lopez nailed the kick, again, putting the Spartans up 20-7 on BYU. And that is where the score stayed as both teams went in for the half.
