Stanford QB Josh Nunes and Cal's Kameron Jackson earned Pac-12 Players of the Week honors on Monday.
Nunes, a Southern California native, connected on 21-of-34 passes for 360 yards and five total touchdowns as Stanford overcame a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter. The Cardinal defeated Arizona in overtime, 54-48, and Nunes was instrumental in the comeback as he rushed for three touchdowns and threw for two more. The rushing touchdowns were the first three of his career, and the passing yardage was a career high.
Jackson registered three interceptions and tied a Pac-12 single-game high coming off the bench. In addition, he added four tackles and a pass defended in the 43-17 win over No. 25 UCLA. The Long Beach, Calif. sophomore picked off the first pass of his career before intercepting two others, stealing the momentum from the Bruins at Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
