MLB Playoffs Predictions: Experts split on Giants vs. Reds

Many of baseball's national scribes are split between the Giants and Reds for the NLDS.

The San Francisco Giants and Cincinnati Reds enter the 2012 NLDS looking pretty evenly matched. Both clubs won their division with more than a week of the regular season remaining. The Giants and Reds both have deep, talented pitching staffs, and Cincinnati features one of the best closers in the game with Aroldis Chapman.

It will be a very interesting best-of-five series to watch this next week. As for the baseball writers of CBS Sports, three experts picked the Giants and three picked the Reds. Two of those experts picked San Francisco to win the NLCS as well, although no one picked them to win the World Series. One scribe had the Reds winning it all.

Game one of the Giants vs. Reds series is scheduled for 9:37 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 6 at AT&T Park. It'll be Matt Cain starting for San Francisco, with Johnny Cueto opposing him for Cincinnati.
