Stanford must now let the stars that made them a national power, head off into the sunset and into the pro ranks.

After suffering a tough loss in a great game last night in the Fiesta Bowl against the Oklahoma St. Cowboys, the Stanford Cardinal now have to deal with the realization that the players that have brought the program back to national prominence, will now look to move on to the next level.

Yes, it is that time. Andrew Luck, Jonathan Martin and David DeCastro will all forgo their final years of eligibility to enter the NFL Draft, according to multiple sources including tweets from John Walters of The Daily and Ralph Drusso of the Associated Press.

This isn't a shock to anyone, but to hear it officially announced does make it painfully real. You can't blame the players though. In SBNation's latest mock draft, Luck goes no. 1, DeCastro is no. 9 and Martin is no. 13. That's reason enough to move on to the next level. Even after last night's game, Stanford was already preparing after this tweet referred to Luck finishing his career.

Luck gave some insight into his current mindset to ESPN last night.

"I'll be happy wherever I land. Whether it be pick one through 270," Luck told ESPN. "I just want a chance to play professional football. It's been a dream. Whatever situation I end up in, I'm sure it'll be for the best."

DeCastro is considered the top offensive guard prospect in the draft and Martin is one of the top four offensive tackles, according to SBNation.
