Jordan Payton Top 2: Cal & Michigan (AUDIO)

Jordan Payton had been a USC Trojans commit for quite sometime, but as it became clear that the scholarship reductions were going to severely impact the program, wide receiver became less a priority for USC in the 2012 class, and both he and Jaydon Mickens started wavering on their commitments. The Oaks Christian star (located in Westlake Village) decommitted from USC weeks ago, and now it appears he's looking elsewhere.

Payton has been looking around, and it appears he has two schools at the top of his radar. He divulged the identity of the two schools in an interview with the Los Angeles Daily News High School podcast.

Interviewer: I know you're really heavily recruited. You had committed to USC, then all of a sudden you weren't going to USC. ... What is the very latest update, Jordan, with your recruiting situation? And you are also perfectly welcome to make your commitment with the Daily News right now if you so choose.

Payton: (laughs) Right now I'm going through the process ... my top two schools are Cal and Michigan, those are the two schools I'm really interested in right now.

Cal needs wide receivers to tag along with the very talented Bryce Treggs, and Payton could help provide that instant one-two punch for the future of the Cal passing game.
