Late-Round Draft Picks Moore, Ausberry Making Strong Impressions At Camp, On The Field For Raiders

The Oakland Raiders may have done better than any other team at finding talent late in the 2011 NFL Draft. The Raiders' fifth and seventh round picks -Denarius Moore and David Ausberry, respectively- are turning heads during camp and providing the Raiders with some quality young receivers.

Moore has performed very well during camp, repeatedly using good body control to get position on defenders and running his route well. He caught two passes on three targets during the Raiders' 17-3 preseason loss to the San Francisco 49ers for a total of 28 yards. Only Darrius Heyward-Bay and Derek Hagan recorded more yards than Moore during the game.

Ausberry, meanwhile, was drafted with the 241st overall pick of the 2011 Draft. He played tight end at USC but had an underwhelming college career. Now, though, he seems to be finding his stride at the right time. Ausberry's quickness and speed has made him a quarterback favorite during practice. Though he went catchless in the Raiders' most recent game against the 49ers, he had an impressive touchdown grab during the Raiders' first preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals.

The front office must be ecstatic right now with these two late-round picks. Both players have shown plenty of potential and could become big parts of the Raiders' passing game moving forward.
